German Wirehaired Pointer Breeders

The German Wirehaired Pointer, also known as a GWP is a versatile hunting breed which originated in Germany, where it is more commonly referred to as the Deutsch Drahthaar. Their wiry coats allow them to hunt in tougher terrains than other bird dogs. This makes them a popular choice for both upland and waterfowl hunters.

German Wirehaired Pointers were bred to track, point, and retrieve. Most will say that these dogs are natural hunters, which can be true, but with that in mind they may tend to do their own thing and require patience from their trainer. The wirehair loves people and they demand affection.
